Halal & Kosher Foods Hold Consumer Appeal

The development and growth of food industries have gone far beyond any ethnic or religious niche. According to a new report from Packaged Facts, Halal and Kosher foods hold consumer appeal and the growing interest may be more to do with food safety than religion. It suggested that the market for Halal food (those that comply with Muslim laws) is growing according to experts, as US Muslims grow accustomed to seeing Halal in their grocery aisles, and non-Muslims see it as healthier.

It works similarly to the Kosher foods. The Kosher food (those that comply with Jewish dietary laws) market is developing, “not so much because of religion, but because consumers of various backgrounds trust kosher foods to be safer and clearly marked as to ingredient content”. Read here for details of the report.
